The Yarmouth Water District’s operators are currently contacting customers at their home whose water meter is due for replacement. The operator will ask if they can change the meter or ask the customer to call the office to make an appointment. They will be driving a Yarmouth Water District vehicle and will not pressure the resident to go into their homes. If an operator comes to your home, do not feel obligated to let them into your home as we will gladly accept you contacting the office to make an appointment.
The Yarmouth Water District routinely replaces older meters, at no cost to the customer, per Public Utility Commission Rules. This work typically takes less than an hour and we ask that the area where the meter is located be cleared of any obstructions to allow our technician room to work safely.
